KELLEY KENDLE

CEO

Kelley brings a wealth of executive experience in service-based businesses targeting medical device and pharmaceutical companies. She previously held executive positions as President and CEO of Synchrogenix (a subsidiary of Certara), Chief Solutions Officer of Certara, a pharma-focused strategic regulatory services business, and as CEO of a European Medical Device CRO.

 

Kelley prides herself on leading an organisation which breeds a culture of creativity and positivity to drive new solutions for our clients and patients.

LOUISA HARVEY

Principal & Founder

Louisa founded Harvey Medical Consulting in 2012, having worked in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry since 2004. She is passionate about usability of medical devices and, in 2018, co-founded Medical Human Factors Network whose mission is to raise the bar of human factors work in the UK.

Louisa also regularly presents at international conferences on the subject of device usability and ethics. Louisa has an MSc in Industrial Pharmaceutical Science. Her project experience spans across many different products areas, from handheld auto-injectors through to large surgical systems. Louisa’s personable, can-do attitude and determination to get to the bottom of clients’ business questions, ensure that every project is a success!

DR. SANDRINE PARKINS

Head of Operations

Sandrine joined Harvey Medical in 2023 as Head of Operations, bringing over 25 years of experience in technical consultancy and a passion for developing high-performing teams. Prior to joining, she served in progressively responsible roles for Team Consulting for over fifteen years, honing her skills in organizational development, project and program management, and change management within medical device product development.

 

As Head of Operations, Sandrine focuses on project planning and delivery, resourcing, and talent management while ensuring robust infrastructure for business processes and systems that bolster Harvey Medical's performance. Her goal is to harness and integrate the strengths of the ClariMed organization to effectively deliver value to clients.

ALPER HULUSI

Head of Medical Device Market Insights

Alper joined Harvey Medical in early 2020 and brings with him over 25 years of experience as a specialist qualitative researcher. Following his Masters degree in Sociology of Education, his career began as a Social Policy Researcher working at the National Centre for Social Research, TNS-BMRB, a decade as a freelance qualitative researcher, and then as Research Director at Creative Medical Research. 

Alper’s experience and expertise span many diverse areas, having specialised in medical devices research for almost a decade.  Alper’s skilful moderation, project design and insights have facilitated some of the top medical device manufacturers to better understand how to design, develop and market their devices.  His expertise span across the entire product development lifecycle, form early stage ideation through to post-market insight, working in partnership with clients to ensure their business objectives are always met.

BECKY GREEN

Senior Human Factors and Market Research Specialist

Becky joined Harvey Medical in 2020. She provides clients with moderation, observation, reporting, documentation, as well as project management.

 

Becky found her passion for qualitative research through her degree, graduating from the University of Leeds with a BA in Sociology. The degree taught her the fundamentals and importance of ethics and research. Becky is passionate about improving medical devices and establishing unmet needs.

 

Becky has completed multiple courses, including The Human Factors and Usability Engineering File and The Art of Moderation. She has also worked for another Cambridge-based design and development consultancy, providing Human Factors research, Market research and usability engineering file documentation.

MAGDA SKOWRONEK

Human Factors and Usability Researcher, AI Specialist

Magda is an accomplished Human Factors Researcher and Artificial Intelligence Specialist with a foundational background in psychology and social research. As the first psychologist and youngest attendee of the executive programme in AI for Business at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, she has dedicated her career to the study of the interface between human behavior and technology. Magda holds three master's degrees and has amassed considerable professional experience in research. Her current focus lies in pioneering the integration of Human Factors and AI within the medical device industry, specifically targeting improvements in human-computer and human-robot interaction. Her work aims to advance the field by applying her unique blend of skills to enhance the effectiveness and safety of medical devices.

KIM LIM

Human Factors Specialist

Kim joined Harvey Medical in 2022, having worked as a Physiotherapist in the NHS for 6 years. During this time, Kim encountered many medical devices with usability issues, and decided on a career change. Having graduated from Loughborough University in 2022 with an MSc in Ergonomics and Human Factors, Kim’s is focusing on establishing herself in the human factors space.

Kim is a driven and focused team player with a pragmatic and organised approach to research, combined with a personable approach.

NATHAN BROWN

Human Factors Researcher

Nathan joined Harvey Medical in 2022, and provides assistance with moderation, observing, reporting, documentation and research, with an emphasis on HFE regulation of medical devices.

 

Nathan studied Materials Science at the University of Oxford, where, during his MSc research project, he designed a microchannelled neural interface for the peripheral nervous system. This gave him a strong research ethic, a clarity of thought when it comes to report writing, and a true insight into the world of medical device design.

 

He is passionate to learn more about Human Factors, and to use his skills to improve the usability of medical devices, and as a result, the lives of the users.

KÜBRA AYTAN

Human Factors Researcher

Kübra has joined Harvey Medical in 2024 as a Human Factors Researcher, specializing in the medical devices industry. With an academic background in Biology and German, and fluency in English, German, and Turkish, she brings a unique blend of scientific insight and linguistic versatility to the team. Kübra is passionate about nutrition and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, principles that guide her both personally and professionally. She is detail-focused and highly organized.

DR. LENGWE SINKALA, MD

Human Factors and Market Insights Specialist

Lengwe joined Harvey Medical in 2023, she brings invaluable experience to the team having studied medicine at Privolzhsky Research Medical University in Russia and then worked as a medical doctor for the ministries of health in Botswana and Zambia, where she gained extensive experience across various medical and surgical specialties.

Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Lengwe pursued further academic excellence, securing a Medical Sciences Research degree at the University of Edinburgh through the prestigious Beit Trust Scholarship. Now, as a valuable member of the Harvey Medical team, Lengwe strives to integrate her clinical expertise and scholarly insight into human factors research and market research. Her passion and positive attitude stem from a deep-rooted commitment to patient safety and well-being, propelling advancements in healthcare practices and the development of safer medical technologies.

JENNIFER COLLINSON

Human Factors Strategy and Advisory Associate

Jenny's medical device industry experience includes more than 18 years in both product development and human factors engineering roles. She completed a master’s degree in applied Ergonomics from the University of Nottingham. Jenny has experience in building HFE processes and integrating them into research and development activities from product conception through to launch.  Jenny also has expertise in creating robust human factors engineering strategies, validation plans and documentation that both meet the requirements of global regulations (US, Europe, China and Japan) and the needs of product development teams.

LISA BOUTTELL

Operations Manager

Lisa joined the Harvey Medical team in 2023, assuming the position of operations manager.  Prior to Harvey Medical, Lisa was the a practice manager of a healthcare centre for almost four years. She also has a wealth of experience in human relations and training. 

 

At Harvey Medical, Lisa assures that each project is able to progress efficiently, whilst also helping with recruitment, and the management of the viewing facility. 

 

Lisa grew up in Sawston, and can offer local insights to clients, whilst providing a familiar face for participants.

CRAIG MCGARRELL

Associate Designer 

Craig is an award winning multi-disciplinary designer, with over a decade of designing world class products, interfaces, instructional material and packaging for the medical industry.
His international experience ranges from top agencies such as Team Consulting, in house expertise from the likes of LumiraDX, and independent consulting and design work for medical companies ranging from fortune 500 pharmaceuticals to MedTech startups.
Craig’s breadth of experience and broad skill-set gives him the ability to understand the entire user journey and company process required to create and deliver world class user experiences and products.

VINCENT LAVAL

Market Insights Interviewer (FR)

Vincent provides moderation, simultaneous translation and analysis support for Harvey Medical when conducting research in French speaking markets.  His background includes a master's degree in mechanical engineering and a research master's degree in fluid dynamics.

Vincent brings a wealth of experience to Harvey Medical, having researched and simultaneously translated many interviews, ranging from human factors sessions with complex devices to more traditional market insights sessions.  Vincent has a dynamic and sensitive approach, with great attention to detail, and ensures all research sessions run smoothly and get to the crux of the issue or device that is being explored.
